If you are planning to travel abroad and think that you may require vaccinations you need to collect a Travel Questionnaire form from the practice. Once completed this form should be dropped in at the surgery as soon as possible.
Our Practice Nurse will then assess which vaccinations, if any, you require. Following this assessment, you will be contacted for an appointment to be made with the nurse.
Travel Vaccines
- Please remember you must allow sufficient time as some vaccinations and medications have to be given several weeks prior to the date of travel so the sooner you let us know your travel destination and fill in the form, the more likely you are to fit in all of the vaccinations that you are required to have before travelling.
If you are travelling to Europe a very useful booklet has been published with advice and guidance to help you get the most out of your holiday.
Further Information
The following websites will give you additional travel advice.
Quote / Testimonial: Cervical screening is free health test that helps to prevent cervical cancer. It checks for a virus called high-risk human papillomavirus (HPV). HPV is normal and very common, most people will get HPV at some point in their lives and it usually goes away without causing any problems.
If you have HPV, it is then checked for cervical cell changes (abnormal cells).
We offer routine cervical screening to patients with a cervix, aged 25 – 64 years old. The appointment is with a member of our female nursing team, you are welcome to bring a friend along with you. You can come at any time for your smear test as long as you are not bleeding as this can obscure the cell collection. You can check for your results on the NHS App or you can contact the surgery for them.
You will receive a letter regardless of your result. This will either advise you that your smear is negative and the HPV test was negative or you will receive a letter to say that you have been referred to Colposcopy and to contact them for an appointment.
Non-urgent advice: Please Note
Please remember, a smear is a screening test and is not suitable for someone with worrying symptoms such as bleeding after sex, post-menopausal bleeding or bleeding in between periods.
You should always see a GP if you are experiencing worrying symptoms.
We offer a range of Minor Surgery appointments; following a GP Consultation you may be listed for Minor Surgery.
If you feel that there is a need for Minor Surgery, please book an appointment with a GP who will then add you to the waiting list. We will be in touch when an appointment for the Minor Surgery is available.
